For consistently clean welds

The PTFE tape is one of the wear parts of the Clesana C1 and performs an important function: It lies over the welding wire and prevents hot polymer from adhering to the welding jaws during the welding process.

According to Clesana, the non-stick effect of PTFE—better known as Teflon—begins to wear off after approximately 1,750 welds. To maintain the quality of the weld seams, the tapes should be replaced.

Replacing the tape in a timely manner also helps protect the Clesana’s sealing mechanism.

The replacement process is straightforward and takes only a few minutes.

Good to know

Many poor-quality seals are blamed on the film. In fact, the cause is often a worn-out PTFE tape. Replacing it in a timely manner usually resolves the problem immediately.
