A look behind the scenes at Camperboards: Why we take the time to address every inquiry, why our products aren’t mass-produced, and why making an appointment is often the better option. In this post, we’d like to answer the questions we receive most frequently from the camper community. This will give you an insight into how we work and help you understand what goes into Camperboards’ products and processes.
How does the contact process work on Camperboards?
The best way to get in touch with us is through the contact form.
There, you can already upload important vehicle details and photos. This helps us accurately assess your vehicle and your needs right from the start. As a result, we can provide you with much more precise feedback and find the right solution for your motorhome more quickly.
Another benefit: Your inquiry is automatically routed to the right person. This helps us avoid unnecessary follow-up questions and allows us to handle your request more efficiently.
Of course, you can also reach us by phone, email, or social media. However, the form is actually the best way to ensure the fastest and most accurate response.
Why does it sometimes take longer to get a response?
Many campers want a quick response—and we certainly understand that. At the same time, we want to handle every inquiry with care.
We often look at vehicle photos, review technical details, request additional photos, or clarify any questions over the phone. Every inquiry is unique and therefore takes time.
You may also experience longer wait times for our products. The reason is simple: our solutions are not mass-produced.
Each product is custom-made for the specific vehicle: size, shape, color, and mounting solution are tailored to the corresponding model.
Since we now offer products for over 100 different vehicle models, we are limited in our ability to keep a complete inventory. This is compounded by manufacturing tolerances from vehicle manufacturers and delivery times from our partner companies.
Why are Camperboards products more expensive than standard solutions?
We hear this question all the time—and it’s a perfectly valid one.
As mentioned earlier, Camperboards are not mass-produced items. They are the result of a complex development and manufacturing process.
We go into the vehicles ourselves, take measurements, create drawings, and develop custom mounting solutions for each model. We then manufacture the products in our in-house woodworking shop.
Add to that genuine craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and a wealth of experience. Every day, our carpenters and staff ensure that every solution fits the vehicle perfectly.
In addition to material costs, the calculation also takes into account development, manufacturing, consulting, service, and operating costs. The result is a durable product designed specifically for your motorhome.
Why are drop-in visits difficult?
Many customers would love to just stop by and get some advice. Of course, we’re always happy to see any camper who stops by.
In practice, however, this is often difficult to achieve. Our carpenters are regularly working on custom installations that can take up to eight hours. Often, several projects are underway at the same time.
When visitors drop by unexpectedly, we often don’t have the time needed to provide them with the advice they deserve. That’s exactly why we work by appointment.
The big advantage: When you schedule an appointment, a carpenter will be there to assist you and focus exclusively on your needs. This allows us to work together to find the best solution for your motorhome.
Bottom line: Custom RV solutions take time!
Our approach is focused on quality, customization, and personalized service. That is why some processes take longer than with standardized, off-the-shelf products.
In return, you’ll receive a solution that has been specifically designed for your vehicle and is perfectly tailored to your needs.
Are you planning your next RV project?
Then use our contact form to send us the key vehicle details and a few photos of your camper. This will allow us to quickly assess your project and recommend the right solution for you.
We look forward to hearing from you.
